Welcome to Sea Cliff

A relaxed and close-knit town with a flavor all its own

This small town sits on the coast between Glen Cove and Port Washington in the Town of Oyster Bay. In Sea Cliff, you won’t find any cookie-cutter homes here, and all the residents know each other by name, making this hamlet a true escape from the bustle of nearby Manhattan. Sea Cliff is revered for its fantastic school district, the strong athletic program for kids, walkability, and proximity to both the city and the water.

What to Love

 • A laid-back small town where everyone knows your name
 • Good schools with excellent athletics
 • Easy commute into the city or to the Hamptons

Local Lifestyle

Sea Cliff residents either work on Long Island or commute into the city but love to kick back on the weekends by playing golf, heading to the beach, or fishing and boating. Young families make up a good deal of the population here, and because it's such a small town, the parent community is strongly intertwined.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Sea Cliff Avenue has a modest collection of stores, as well as a handful of places to eat, including Tavern 227, a “Brooklyn style” Italian restaurant, or Still Partners, a gastropub open late on weekends that frequently features live music. Sea Cliff Market has excellent fresh produce during all seasons, while Sea Cliff Bistro & Cafe is a popular spot to grab a quick bite with friends.

Things to Do

This small town has no shortage of things to do! Mini Mart kicks off the fall session with their street fair during October, while Sunset Serenade has live music every Thursday night in Veterans Park during the summer months. Every June, residents love Garage Sale Day, and given how walkable the town is, you can imagine this day-long event is a blast. Sea Cliff Beach has a live-music bandstand featuring local artists and a beachside cafe — easily one of the more popular places during the summer!

Residents say that highlights of a busy social calendar include a potluck Halloween party, an annual Newcomers Dinner, and a beer-fueled golf tournament that winds its way through backyards.

Schools

Although Sea Cliff shares the top-rated North Shore School District with neighboring Glen Head, the elementary schools are kept separate. Kids in town attend Sea Cliff Elementary, then matriculate to North Shore Middle School and North Shore Senior High School.

However, some parents opt to send their kids to Green Vale School, which is the largest co-ed private school on Long Island for pre-nursery through 8th grade.
